Joseph Kang currently serves as a bench officer on the Juvenile Dependency Court Panel at the Lamoreaux Justice Center.  He was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom and sworn in as an Orange County Superior Court Judge on March 13, 2023.  Prior to his appointment, he served as a Deputy Public Defender in Los Angeles County for 23 years. 

 

Judge Kang graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School.
