- 설립 배경

​

​

  • 인적자원 개발 요구 : 세계한민족여성네트워크는 2001년 여성부 출범을 계기로 국내외 여성과 세계 170여 곳에서 활약하는 동포 여성과의 교류와 연대를 구축하고 한민족 여성의 인적자원을 개발하여 국가 경쟁력 강화를 위하여 설립함

​

  • 네트워크 형성 요구 : 첫 회 행사는 2001년 7월 23개국 94명의 해외인사를 포함한 400여명이 참석한 가운데 개최하였고 한민족 여성의 네트워크 구축 방안에 대한 정보를 교환하며 여성 동포 간 네트워크 형성의 길을 여는 최초의 계기를 마련함

  • 재단법인 설립 요구 : 전 세계 한인 여성들이 한 곳에 모인 것을 계기로 재단법인을 설립하여 교류 및 연대를 지속적으로 함으로써 한민족 여성의 국제적 지위 향상과 국가 발전에 기여하는것을 목적으로 함

  • 전 세계 한민족 여성이 한민족의 정체성을 가지고 연대 및 교류를 강화함

  • 국내외 네트워크 확대 및 교류를 통하여 한민족 여성의 발전을 도모함

  • 국제화 시대에 한민족 여성의 국제적 지위를 향상시킴

  • 국제사회에서 한민족 여성의 능력을 발휘할 수 있는 다양한 지원과 인재 개발을 통하여 국가 발전에 기여함

- Our Commitment

2. 우리는 한민족임과 동시에 거주하는 세계 지역의 문화와 전통을 이해하며, 그 지역 사회에 공헌하는 세계인이다.

 

3. 우리는 각자의 개성과 환경을 이해하며, 가진 재능과 경험과 지식을 함께 나눈다.

- KOWIN OC BACKGROUND 

The Korean Women's International Network (KOWIN) is a global network of women of Korean descent who are leaders in their respective fields. It was established in 2001 with the specific purpose of advancing the status of women in world. The formation of the KOWIN network was encouraged and facilitated by the Ministry of Gender Equality & Family in Korea. The Orange County Chapter is part of the KOWIN U.S. Western Region that consists of San Fransisco, Seattle, LA, San Diego, and Orange County.

As the KOWIN OC Chapter grows in its membership and interests among Korean American women, it has extended its services in Orange County area as a major leadership training provider. The KOWIN Conference is attended by current regional directors and female leaders from such diverse fields as business, politics, public sector, law, media, religion, arts, sciences, and education.

 

KOWIN aims to systematize the collaboration among Korean women, both in Korea and abroad, tapping into the talent of these women to promote cultural pride.

There are many other activities that promote a collaboration among members and with other community leaders.

세계한인여성네트워크(KOWIN)**는 각 분야에서 리더로 활동하고 있는 한인 여성들로 구성된 글로벌 네트워크입니다. KOWIN은 전 세계 여성의 지위 향상을 목적으로 2001년에 설립되었으며, 대한민국 여성가족부의 지원과 장려 아래 네트워크가 형성되었습니다.

KOWIN 오렌지카운티(OC) 지부는 샌프란시스코, 시애틀, 로스앤젤레스(LA), 샌디에이고, 오렌지카운티로 구성된 **KOWIN 미국 서부 지역(Western Region)**의 일원으로 활동하고 있습니다. KOWIN OC는 한인 여성들 사이에서 회원 수와 관심 분야가 지속적으로 확대됨에 따라, 오렌지카운티 지역에서 주요 리더십 교육 및 역량 강화 기관으로서의 역할을 수행하고 있습니다. KOWIN 컨퍼런스에는 각 지역 디렉터와 더불어 비즈니스, 정치, 공공 부문, 법률, 미디어, 종교, 예술, 과학, 교육 등 다양한 분야에서 활약하는 여성 리더들이 참석하여 교류와 협력을 이어가고 있습니다.

KOWIN은 국내외 한인 여성들 간의 협력을 체계화하고, 이들의 역량과 재능을 적극적으로 활용함으로써 문화적 자긍심을 고취하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 이 외에도 KOWIN OC는 회원 간의 협력뿐만 아니라 지역사회 리더들과의 연계를 통해 다양한 활동을 전개하며, 지속적인 네트워킹과 공동체 발전에 기여하고 있습니다.

The Korean Women’s International Network (KOWIN) OC Chapter, established in 2009 by first-generation Korean-American women professionals, community leaders, and entrepreneurs, is dedicated to strengthening the network of Korean women both locally and globally. Through leadership development, professional growth, and meaningful connections, we empower our members to realize their full potential while supporting and nurturing the next generation of Korean-American women to excel in their careers, serve their communities, and lead with purpose.

2009년, 1세대 한인 여성 전문인, 지역사회 리더, 기업가들에 의해 설립된 KOWIN OC는 지역과 글로벌 차원에서 한인 여성 네트워크를 강화하는 것을 사명으로 합니다. KOWIN OC는 리더십 개발과 전문성 향상, 그리고 의미 있는 네트워크 형성을 통해 회원들의 잠재력을 실현하도록 돕고, 차세대 한인 여성들이 각자의 분야에서 성장하고 공동체에 기여하는 리더로 발전할 수 있도록 지원합니다.
