Since November 2020, Fred Jung  has been serving his community as Mayor, currently in his second consecutive term within a three-year span. His leadership extends across several critical regional boards, most notably with the Orange County Power Authority, where he has served on the Board of Directors since January 2021 and has held the position of Board Chair since 2022.

In the realm of infrastructure and resources, he has been a member of the Metropolitan Water District Board of Directors since January 2021, currently serving as the Chair of Legislative, Regulatory Affairs, and Communications. His commitment to regional transit is evidenced by his roles on the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Board, where he is the Vice Chair of the Transit Committee, and his seat on the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency Board of Directors.

Furthermore, he provides financial and policy oversight as the Chair of the Budget & Finance Committee for the Orange County Mosquito & Vector Control District and contributes to state-wide policy through the California League of Cities on the Transportation, Communication, and Public Works Committee. His recent appointments since January 2023 include positions on the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the Orange County Council of Governments (OCCOG), the San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy (RCM), and the Orange County Housing and Finance Trust.
